Revving Up Our Engines

 Hello to all my supporters!

Thank you so much for partnering with me in this year of ministry in Denton. I am so grateful to have so many incredibly generous and loving people in my life. Your excitement for me makes me all the more excited for what is to come, and I can't wait to share with you all the things God will be doing.

As you may know, this whole summer has been about preparing for this next year of ministry, and we have started putting things in motion! Just this last Sunday, we had our annual licensing ceremony to renew staff commitments, and the other apprentices and I officially made our commitments to serve the community for the next 10 months!

Thank you to those who were able to come or watch online! If you missed the ceremony and want to go back and watch, you can see the Facebook recording here: https://fb.watch/7f2z7EiD4j/
and if you want to follow along or just read the program sheet that has our commitments, you can find the link to it here: https://anyfocus.org/licensing/

This week, we had our staff retreat, which was a great way to refresh us and get everyone ready for the busy weeks coming up as well as bond us together as a large but connected staff team. During our scheduled times, I witnessed a small piece of how the Denton team and the FOCUS staff as a whole work together, and during our breaks, I got to hang out with and get to know the amazing people who care so much about the students on these college campuses.

Tomorrow, we are leaving for SICM! This is the Student Institute of Campus Ministry, which is a conference for training our students to become leaders in their circles. Some of these students will go on to lead small groups or bible studies in our community, but hopefully all of them will learn how to become effective ministers who are confident discipling others and pointing them to Christ.

Please be praying for us at SICM this week and on campus next week for Welcome Week events. We'll be meeting with students to invite them into relationship and community. Also, tell me how I can be praying for you! I want to stay updated on what's going on in your lives, and I would love to pray for you if there's ever anything you need prayer for.

Lots of love,
Steven
